The project requirement was to provide a software solution to support postal Customs operations to avoid the bottle necks at peak hours for parcel clearance.

MicroClear – Customs Modernization Solution was implemented for postal service Customs in Egypt in two locations. The entire process involved in the postal customs clearance process was studied and automated by MicroClear team. From this project, the team got exposure to the postal customs process. The specific modules in MicroClear implemented for Egypt Postal Customs are:

••  Declaration Module

••  Customs Tariff System

••  Admin Module.

A key achievement of this project was to successfully train the customs staff on using the application. Most of the users were new to computers, but ICS trainers were successful in educating them so that they could work with the application comfortably.
