PWC (Public Warehousing Company) Group, the leading Supply Chain Solutions Provider in the Middle East today announced it has been recognized by Microsoft Corporation as a finalist at the fifth annual Microsoft Certified Partner Awards in the eCommerce Solution of the Year category representing the Middle East for the second consecutive year. Nearly 900 entries were considered for awards in nine different categories.
PWC has been selected because of its innovative use of Microsoft’s latest Dot Net technologies that offer clear benefits to its customers. “It was an honor for us to receive so many amazing business applications of our products,” said Rosa Garcia, General Manager of Partner Sales and Marketing Group at Microsoft, “but PWC clearly stood out among the many high-quality entries we received.”
This award is in recognition of PWC’s groundbreaking IT initiative; MicroClear, that is transforming the way customs authorities are working all over the world. Capable of handling the demanding requirements of a diverse end-user community, including customs administrators and officials, airport and seaport authorities, importers, exporters and freight forwarders, MicroClear is aimed at speeding up procedures and minimizing administrative costs to the business community and customs departments alike.
“MicroClear is the first application of its kind” says Tarek Sultan Chairman & Managing Director. “PWC prides itself on its use of the best available technology to improve efficiencies, address customer needs and build new services for the future."
The solution is built on the .Net enterprise server family, including Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Commerce Server 2000, SQL Server, Biz Talk Server 2000 and running on Windows 2000. MicroClear was developed using key Microsoft .NET development tools such as Visual Studio .NET, ASP.NET, C#, .NET Common Language Runtime and Web Services.
Award Finalists will be honored at Microsoft’s Fusion 2002 partner event in Los Angeles, CA July 12th -15th. The worldwide winner in each of the nine award categories will be announced July 12th.
