What is the CMRE Program?
The CRME Program is a comprehensive program that is intended to modernize and facilitate trade, while improving internal compliance such as revenue collection. The CRME program usually begins with a comprehensive business process re-engineering (BPR) study that is intended to highlight process flow efficiencies and legal considerations necessary to ensure WTO and other regulatory compliance. The study process usually involves world renowned consultants and enables government officials to fully participate in the re-engineering effort. Once completed, the results of the BPR study are then implemented via a turnkey Customs modernization solution. The solution involves hardware, software, as well as knowledge transfer programs. The end result is a revolutionary improvement in trade facilitation and customs processes. The CRME programs also involve optional decision support, audit, and price research services, which can defray all or most of the cost associated with the modernization efforts through an increase in government revenue collections.
